The Glycolic Acid Regimen is a combination of an in-office glycolic acid wash (exfoliation) and a home skin care regimen. Glycolic acid is an Alpha Hydroxy acid that is an extract of sugar and acts as a mild exfoliating gel.
Exfoliation of the skin results in the removal of the stratum corneum (dead layer covering the epidermis) and stimulation and possible removal of the upper layers of the epidermis. Thus skin problems that involve these layers can be treated.
- ACNE
- FINE WRINKLE LINES
- UNEVEN SKIN TONE
- SALLOW COLOR
- SUN DAMAGE
Aging and sun damage cause a rough texture to the stratum corneum, increase in uneven pigmentation, loss of the elasticity and thinness of the skin, decreased oil production and lentigo formation ("liver spots"). Removal of this aged stratum corneum, stimulation of a healthier regenerative layer, possible increase in collagen and elastic tissue, help to reduce these problems.
The in office regimen consists of a series (4-6) of Glycolic Acid washes (exfoliation's) that result in a slight pinkness of the skin. Repetitive treatments at 1-2 week intervals or use of a stronger concentration at 1 month intervals are performed.
The home care skin regime is a combination of cleansers, glycolic acid preparations, bleaching agents, moisturizers, and sun screens used in conjunction with the office regime or as a separate skin care plan.
Does this regimen differ from other glycolic acid products currently available?
There are many differences between this regimen and other products available.
- The glycolic acid utilized is made from a synthetically fermented extract of sugar. This is felt to be a better, safer product.
- The acid used is a non neutralized acid, therefore a very effective exfoliant, unlike weaker, neutralized and esterified preparations that are available.
- Several unique very expensive ingredients are added to the skin care line.
Daily Gel is a product that provides continuous mild exfoliation to the skin with the use of non-neutralized Glycolic Acid.
What does this preparation contain that makes it so effective?
Daily Gel contains 3 major ingredients:
- Glycolic Acid (10%)
- Algae Peptides
- Extracts (Kola, Matte, Guarana)
What are algae peptides?
This is a complex group of substances derived from algae that have potentially significant benefits to the skin. They have the ability to increase moisture in the skin, stability of collagen, and an increase in collagen production.
Wash it after 10 minutes with warm then cool water.
- Improve skin hydration.
- Reduce fine surface lines.
- Improve skin firmness & elasticity.
- Increase cell turnover and thickness of skin.
- Soothing to the skin.
